PAT VISITS ELWAY

On Friday, February 27 Pat went to visit Gwen (elway) in the hospital. But before he even got into the hospital he was escorted out of the parking lot by an armed guard! Seems he had tried to part in the wrong parking lot!

Gwen (elway) was in City of Hope Hospital having the first of her two stem cell transplants.

She had a lot of trouble with tiredness, mouth sores and general pain but was in good spirits.

Her wbc count was up to 1.1 when Pat visited and she was out of isolation.

Pat must have gone with dirty hands because the nurse made him wash them before he could see Gwen!

Since then Gwen went back home to Montana. Her blood counts did not go back up enough to have the second of the two stem cell transplants that she was to have. She was in remission for over a year and then was told that she had mets to her bones and her liver mets were again growing.

Gwen Taylor (elway)

Gwen has moved to Elko, Nevada. I had the privilege of meeting her there when Barb and I brought her an afghan made by members of BCforum.

To see closeups of each ribbon on the afghan and to see which qualities were put in each ribbon, click on the afghan picture below!

Because Gwen is such an "elway fan", the members of Bcforum asked John Elway to write her a letter of encouragement.
