Meeting our elway

Barb stood alone in the dry dusty unpaved parking lot at the Rancoul station, her hand shading her eyes, worried that somehow we had miscommunicated and I had taken the bus instead of the train. In fact, since my train was an hour late, she had already made a round trip to the bus station!

That night she and I tied ribbons onto the afghan, sewed threads into the afghan and put fray check on ribbon ends! The following day we flew to Elko.

We arrived at our motel, signed in and called Gwen (our elway). We were told Gwen had missed us at the airport! And when we hung up, our telephone light was blinking... the front desk had called... someone was looking for us.

Barb and I went downstairs. "Oh yes," the woman at the front desk said. "A woman in a pink cap is looking for you."

We paged Gwen, no answer. We looked for a pink hat, no pink hat in sight. We left a message that we'd be in the restaurant.

We ordered. We paged Gwen again. We looked for a pink hat. We ate. We looked for a pink hat. A woman said "... looking ... don't know ..." to our waitress and darted off. She didn't have a pink hat.

Barb told the waitress we were looking for someone we had never met. The waitress pointed and said, "so is she!"

Yup, it was Gwen, she had taken off her pink hat, had on a moose shirt which she thought would make her obvious to us because she once had a moose in her backyard! But neither Barb nor I had even noticed the moose!

Can you find the moose??

Well, we did find antlers!!!

Hugs and more hugs, laughs and more laughs....

The next day we presented Gwen with the afghan.
